2016: Winters was named to the 2016 All NSIC ThirdTeam and also the 2016 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team… selected to be a team captain in 2017...played in 19 games with one shot in 2017...a team leader on defense, Winters helped the Huskies to a 1.50 GAA in 2017.
2015: Winters was named to the 2015 All NSIC Second Team and also the 2015 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team… played in all 18 games for the Huskies … help lead SCSU’s defense that allowed just 1.22 goals per game.
2014: Winters was named to the 2014 All-NSIC Second Team...played in all 18 games for the Huskies and posted one assist...helped lead SCSU's defensive line that allowed just 1.67 goals per game in 2014...gained first career point with assist vs. Mary on Oct. 17, 2014.
Before SCSU: Winters was a defenseman at Anoka High School and a four-time varsity letter winner in soccer for coach Paul Anderla...she was a team captain and named her team’s Most Valuable Player and Miss Hustle...was an All-Conference and All-Conference Honorable Mention recipient...during her high school career she posted four goals and nine assists as a defenseman...
Personal: Winters excels in the classroom as an academic letter winner, National Honor Society member, amongst other clubs and organizations. She has played on the State and Regional ODP teams and a couple club teams as well. Winters was a member of the North Metro Lightning for seven years and currently with the Minnesota Thunder Academy club team. Mackenzie is the daughter of Todd and Kathleen Winters....environmental science major at SCSU...enjoys volunteering, exercising and hanging out with friends.
