2011-12: Thorson was named SCSU's William Radovich (Most Improved) Award winner in 2011-12...played in 39 games and tallied six goals and eight assists for SCSU as a sophomore...scored first career goal on Nov. 4, 2011 with a marker in win over UW at the NHC...had two assists in a big 5-1 win at UW on Feb. 3, 2012...+9 on the plus/minus...charted a game winner vs. UW on Nov. 4, 2011...first power play goal as a Husky was scored on Dec. 17, 2011 vs. Denver.
2010-11: Played in 12 games in first season at SCSU... Recorded one assist...first career point as a Husky was scored against Quinnipiac on Oct. 30, 2010.
Prior to SCSU: A 2008 graduate of Armstrong H.S....Thorson earned four varsity letters in hockey and also gained All-Conference honors in 2008, 2007 and 2006 at Armstrong...charted 51g/50a during his prep hockey career...played two seasons of junior hockey with the Owatonna Express of the NAHL in 2008-09 and 2009-10...led Owatonna with 56 points (25g/31a) in 2009-10...named as one of the NAHL’s Junior Hockey Player of the Year nominees in 2009-10.
Personal: Born July 4, 1990...son of Ben and Gloria Thorson of Crystal...enjoys family, fishing and golf...general studies major and coaching minor at SCSU.
