St. Cloud, Minn. --Â St. Cloud State University head football coach Scott Underwood and his staff announced the commitments of 27 high school athletes and two transfers to the Huskies program today (Feb. 7), the first day for Division II signing. The incoming class includes athletes from Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Iowa.Â
Â
"I want to first thank my staff for the time that they've invested in working with these 27 outstanding 2018 student athletes!," said Coach Underwood, who is entering his 11th season in charge of the program
Â
"We are excited to have this group join us in bringing a wealth of athletic talent and academic prowess to our program. We had several areas we needed to address in adding quality young men to our program and I believe this was accomplished in the recruiting class."
Â
St. Cloud State (6-5, 3-4 NSIC North in 2017) will open its 2018 season at home at Husky Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 30, against the University of Mary at 6 p.m. The team will have five home and six away games this season.
