Huskies Drop an Overtime Thriller at Augustana

Sioux Falls, SD. – Amanda Christianson's three-point shot at the end of regulation sent the St. Cloud State women's basketball team (12-7, 9-6 NSIC) into overtime against the NSIC South leading Augustana Vikings (19-1, 15-1 NSIC) before eventually falling by a final score of 76-74.
Christianson scored a game-high of 21 points while also recording six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Tori Wortz totaled 11 points and seven rebounds while Andrea Thomas recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Mallie Doucette led the Huskies' bench with 10 points and one steal.
After falling behind in the first half 31-26, the Huskies outscored the Vikings in the third quarter to tie the game going into the fourth quarter. 12 of Christianson's 21 points came in the fourth quarter where her and Augustana's Logan O'Farrell were trading field goals down the stretch of the contest. St. Cloud State was down by two points with less than 20 seconds in the game when Mallie Doucette's free throw brought the margin within three. After another Viking free throw, the Huskies trailed by three until Amanda Christianson sunk a three-point shot at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Huskies held a lead two different times with Tori Wortz recording five points in five minutes before the Vikings took a two-point lead within the final three seconds of the game off of free-throws.
St. Cloud State shot 42.4 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range while also out-rebounding the Vikings, 48-35. As a team, the Huskies recorded 16 assists, five steals and three blocks.
Augustana had five players score in double-figures with three of those players coming off of the bench. Abby Hora's 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds led the Vikings' offensive efforts with Presley O'Farrell also scoring 14 points. Augustana shot 36.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range in the contest.
