SCSU soccer scores 1-0 exhibition victory at UWGB

The St. Cloud State University soccer team kicked off its 2017 season with a 1-0 exhibition game victory at Wisconsin-Green Bay on Friday, Aug. 18.
The Huskies' game winning goal was scored at 51:03 by sophomore Hannah Marion.  Her shot from the left side found the upper right corner of the net with assists from junior Kelli Santo Paulo and freshman Kaitlyn Dziubinski.  Both Santo Paulo and Dziubinski are from St. Charles, Ill.
Goalkeepers Leah Schmidt and Kelsey Christian teamed up to gain the shutout in the contest with seven saves to their credit. Â Schmidt had two saves and Christian had five saves in the contest. Â UWGB outshot the Huskies 16-5 in the game. Â SCSUÂ had two shots on target in the game, while UWGBÂ had seven.
The Huskies will continue the exhibition portion of their schedule on Aug. 24 with a 7 p.m. home date at Husky Stadium against Augsburg University.
