A large contingent of St. Cloud State University student-athletes participated in the 2017 Polar Plunge at Pleasant Lake on Saturday, Feb. 18. Â The Polar Plunge helps raise funds for the Special Olympics, including a team from the St. Cloud area called the Granite City Rox.
SCSUÂ athletes participating in the Polar Plunge got sponsors to make donations towards Special Olympics in order to participate in this year's Polar Plunge. Â The plunge typically takes place in Pleasant Lake, but due to the unseasonably warm weather and unsafe ice conditions on the lake, a temporary plunge pool was set up near the Pleasant Lake for the plungers.
The video below captures a bit of the day's events at Pleasant Lake. Â Thank you SCSUÂ athletes and all the donors who helped make the event a success.
