Women’s Basketball Rolls To 93-32 Victory Over Northland College

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud women's basketball team (2-0) rolled to a 93-32 victory over Northland College (1-3) behind a game-high 18 point from freshman Tori Wortz on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Halenbeck Hall.
Wortz has led the team in scoring in each of the first two games of the season. She shot 6-for-10 from the field and had a three three-pointers plus four rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Kassidy Steen recorded a career-high 16 point off the bench on 8-for-8 shooting from the field. She also had a pair of assists and steals. Sophomore Madelin Dammann also reached double figures with 11 points plus a pair of steals. Redshirt junior Mallie Doucette put up nine points plus two rebounds and two assists. Senior Andrea Thomas had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Freshman Nikki Kilboten recorded eight points, five rebounds and four steals. All 13 players on the Huskies were able to score in the game.
The Lumberjills were led by 10 points from Ashton Meadows. Katherine Taylor picked up eight points.
The Huskies shot 53.6 percent from the field (37-for-69) and 36 percent from three-point range (9-for-25). The team also forced 30 turnovers and had 43 rebounds. Northland College were limited to 27.7 percent shooting (13-for-47) including 11.8 percent from three-point range (2-for-17)
SCSU's largest lead in the game was 65 points with 3:40 to go in the fourth quarter on a jumper from Kilboten.
St. Cloud State women's basketball team now gets on the road for the first time this season and participates in the Parrish Hotels Thanksgiving Classic in Topeka, Kansas next weekend. The program will take on host institution Washburn University on Friday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. and Newman University on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m.

- The SCSU women are now 2-0 all-time against Northland College and have outscored the Lumberjills 198-84 in the two matchups.

- The 93 points scored was the most for the program in a game since putting up 111 points against Bemidji State last season (12/3/16)
