#9/10 St. Cloud State men's hockey falls 4-1 at #13/14 Quinnipiac

The #9/10 St. Cloud State University men's hockey team (4-2-0, 0-0-0 NCHC) suffered a 4-1 loss at #13/14 Quinnipiac University (6-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Hamden, Conn.
The Huskies charted an impressive 42 shots in the contest but they were only able to solve QU goalie Michael Garteig once in the contest with a goal by junior forward Ben Storm.
Quinnipiac took a 1-0 lead at 14:49 of the first period with a goal by Travis St. Denis. The Bobcats gained the game winner with a shorthanded goal by Soren Jonzzon at 17:05 of the second.
SCSU broke the shutout at 14:47 of the second period Storm's goal, which was assisted by Blake Winiecki. The goal was Storm's first of the season and it was his third goal at SCSU.
At 12:34 of the third period, St. Denis pushed Quinnipiac's lead to 3-1 with a power play goal. The Bobcats then capped the game with a fourth and final goal at 13:10 of the third by Tommy Schutt.
The Huskies outshot the Bobcats 42-30 in the game as Garteig made 41 saves in the win. SCSU's Charlie Lindgren had 26 saves in the game for the Huskies. On the power play, SCSU was 0-3 and QU was 1-2.
SCSU will return to action on Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31 with a pair of home dates at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center against National Collegiate Hockey Conference rival Miami University.
