St. CLoud State Names Men's Hockey Captains for 2012-13

St. Cloud State University men's hockey coach Bob Motzko has announced that senior forwards Ben Hanowski (Little Falls) and Drew LeBlanc (Hermantown) will serves as team captains for 2012-13, while junior defenseman Nick Jensen (Rogers) will serve as an team alternate captain for the upcoming season.
This marks the second consecutive season that Hanowski and LeBlanc have worn the "C" on their sweaters, while Jensen will be in his first year as a team captain.
Hanowski led the Huskies on the ice in 2011-12 with 23 goals, 20 assists and 43 points. He also led SCSU last winter with 128 shots to his credit. In his career at SCSU, Hanowski has charted 45 goals, 37 assists and 82 points.
LeBlanc missed most of the 2011-12 season as an injury redshirt and will return for his senior season at SCSU in 2012-13. LeBlanc paced the Huskies on offense in 2010-11 with 13 goals, 26 assists and 39 points, and he is just three points shy of joining the team's 100-point club with 29 career goals and 68 career assists. LeBlanc gained All-WCHA honors during his junior season in 2010-11.
Jensen, who was ranked by USCHO.com as a top 10 college defender to watch in 2012-13, led SCSU with 26 assists in 2011-12. He finished the year with six goals and placed third on the team with 26 points. An All-WCHA selection, Jensen has scored 11 goals and 44 assists in two seasons at SCSU.

Start of a New Season
The Huskies will open practice for the 2012-13 on Oct. 6 with a pair of sessions at the NHEC. SCSU will travel to New Hampshire on Oct. 12-13 for the 2012-13 season opener in Durham, N.H. Fans can listen to those games live on KNSI AM 1450/FM 103.3 or www.knsiradio.com
